Peanut Butter Hazelnut Cookies

We are leaving Portugal soon, which means it’s time to get creative with our remaining pantry items. These Peanut Butter Hazelnut Cookies turned out great – a definite hit with the youngest travelers in our crew. Enjoy!

Baking cookies is a great way to use up pantry items!

Ingredients (Makes 30 cookies)

1 cup creamy peanut butter

1/4 cup chocolate hazelnut spread (such as Nutella)

1 cup sugar

1 egg

1/2 teaspoon almond extract

1/4 cup flour

1/2 teaspoon baking powder

Directions

Step 1) Preheat oven to 375 degrees F

Step 2) Cream together peanut butter, chocolate hazelnut spread and sugar.

Step 3) Add egg and almond extract. Mix well.

Step 4) Add flour, a little at a time, along with baking powder. Mix well.

Step 5) Roll into balls (using about 1 tablespoon of dough for each ball) and set on well greased baking sheets. Press with a fork in a criss-cross pattern.

Step 6) Bake for 8 minutes or until cookies are set and beginning to brown on bottoms. Remove from pan and allow to cool on a flat paper bag.
